Material Guide: Which Material for 3D Letters?

For decorative indoor 3D letters, PLA is the best choice: high quality, dimensionally stable and very smooth. For lasting outdoor use, weather-resistant plastics like PETG or ASA are intended. The currently available material is shown live in the configurator.

PLA – ideal for indoors

PLA is made from plant-based raw materials, is dimensionally stable and gives a very smooth, clean surface. It's perfect for wall decor, name signs and light indoor decoration. Heat resistance is around 55 °C, so avoid direct sun behind glass or a hot car.

We currently produce all letters in PLA.

PETG, ABS & ASA – for stress and outdoors

PETG is more robust (up to ~80 °C), suited to signage and stressed parts. ABS is especially tough for technical uses. ASA is UV- and weather-resistant (up to ~95 °C), the choice for lasting outdoor use. These materials are planned in our range – orderable options appear in the configurator.

Which material for what?

Indoor decor, names, gifts: PLA. Signage with some stress: PETG. Lasting outdoor use, weatherproof signs: ASA. If unsure, our support helps you choose.
